GROUPS - MOTHERS UNION
The
Mothers' Union is the largest women's organisation in the world.
Our group meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 2.30p.m.
in the Church Hall Meeting Room, except during Lent when we meet
each week.
Purpose,
Aim and Objects
The
purpose of the Mothers' Union is to be specially concerned with
all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family
life.
The
Aim 0f the Society is the advancement of the Christian religion
in the sphere of marriage and family life. In order to carry out
this Aim, its Objects are:
- To
uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and promote
its wider understanding.
- To
encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and
life of the Church
- To
maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer,
worship and service.
- To
promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life
and the protection of children
- To
help those whose family life has met with adversity
Mission
Statement:
The
Mother's Union is a Christian organisation which promotes the
well-being of families world-wide.
We
achieve this by:
- Developing
prayer and spiritual growth in families
- Studying
and reflecting on family life and marriage and its place in
society
- Resourcing
our members to take practical action to improve conditions for
families, both nationally and in the communities in which they
live.
