NEWS - PARISH NEWS
1. Our Prayer Chain is absolutely confidential – prayers for anyone (including yourself) or any situation. Please ring Beryl on 8898 3261.
2. We have a confidential Pastoral Visiting Team who are very pleased to visit you and spend time listening. If you would like to contact the team please leave your name and telephone number on the office answering machine (8979 2102). We will get back to you to make arrangements for your visit.
3. TNT is our Friday evening group for 10 to 13 year- olds. We meet from 7.30 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. during term time, for fun, games, refreshments and a chat. If you are interested in finding out more please call Sarah Pain (8979 5140) or Mark Williams (8941 2082) or just come along and join us.
4. Linden Hall Day Centre (8941 2373) over 60s Social Day Club, open Monday – Friday. Transport is available for those who cannot manage the bus. Hot two-course lunch available at £3.75. Activities include entertainment, bingo, cards, darts, day trips and holidays. Membership just £16 per year.
5. A request from Linden Hall Day Centre: Paul, their gardener, is moving to Warwickshire. He will be sadly missed as he has worked very hard to keep the garden so lovely. If anyone knows of a keen gardener who might be interested in taking over when Paul leaves, please call Sharon Swan on 8941 2373.
6. Hampton Carnival 30th Anniversary Parade and Fair. Saturday 14th June. Parade starts from St James’s Road, Hampton Hill, at 12 noon. Fair from 12.30 p.m. on Nursery Green Park and in the White House. The Committee would particularly like to encourage smaller groups to take part in the parade, either walking, on bikes, or pushing prams. For further details call 020 8979 1884.
7. David Garrick’s Temple to Shakespeare – summer season now open – with free entertainment at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. This is a special year for the Temple – the 250th Anniversary of Garrick installing the original Roubiliac statue of Shakespeare. If you are interested in joining the band of volunteers who staff the Temple, please call 020 8979 3089.
8. The White House Community Association of Hampton and Hampton Hill at 45 The Avenue, Hampton, is your local community association and has various rooms for hire at reasonable rates. Become a member and join some of the many activities that take place every week, or visit the Social Club Bar with member prices. To find out more call in to the office or phone 8979 1884. The White House Coffee Bar is open every Wednesday and Thursday, between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. Why not pop in for a coffee?
9. Have you considered coming to church with your children but been worried that they may make a noise? Then our Family Service, which takes place on the first Sunday of every month at 11.15 a.m., is ideal. It is particularly aimed at the younger age range - although everyone of any age is more than welcome.
10. If you are on a low income you may be eligible for a grant towards your fuel costs from the Hampton Fuel Allotment Charity. 12. Parents & Toddlers Group meets in the Church Hall on Friday mornings at 9.30 a.m. Price from 80p.
13. Hampton Toy Library. Every Tuesday in term time. 10.00-11.30 a.m. Safe play for babies and toddlers. Toys for loan. Lovely social atmosphere for mums and carers. Yummy treats with hot and cold drinks!
